In Too Deep

In Too Deep by Supercuty06

"Gary thinks there might be pearls in Clam Waters!" Quinn said. "Are you sure you want to go? No one knows anything about clams! They could have razor sharp claws, or squirt poison, or clamp you up whole or--" "Calm down. Gary's smart. He wouldn't ask anyone to go down there if he thought it was dangerous. Stop being such a scaredy-puffle." "I'm sorry I don't want to risk my life to find pointless treasure" Magdalena snapped. "Fine. I'll go by myself and prove to you it's perfectly safe." "Quinn, I don't know what I would do if something bad happened to you out there!" The tears forming in Magdalena's eyes almost made Quinn turn back. "Don't worry." Quinn said as he hugged Magdalena. I promise I'll back back in a few hours." "Sigh, okay. Watch out for any suspicious." Quinn walked over to the Aqua Grabber, pulled the door open, and went inside. Right after she sat down a hologram of Gary appeared and explained how to move the machine using the various levers and buttons. This sounds so easy. I can find 10 pearls in my sleep. After listening to Gary's rambling for a moment her eyes started to close. Just before she fell asleep Gary began talking about what to expect in Clam Waters. "The natural plant life creates moving air pockets which substantiate for the loss of a limited air supply due to the fact I did not have the equipment needed to create a built in force field. Moschomicrotherium puffleii rosea, commonly know as pink puffles can also form air pockets with their scuba gear. Use caution by not traveling any farther than 500 feet. My calculations suggest a Monstrum lolligo gigas. Ugh, he sounds like Maggie. It can't be that bad. Gary's holograph finally turned off and Quinn pressed the Start button and the Aqua Grabber came to life. "Treasure here I come!" she shouted while putting the machine in gear and jerking the lever down. The Aqua Grabber sped much faster than Quinn expected. "AHHHHH!" Quinn frantically tried to bring the lever back up, but slammed into a wall. She panicked and let go of the lever. The machine bounced off the wall and spinned out of control. Soon water was up to her shoulder. What am I going to do! Quinn held her breath and closed her eyes as the water rose up to her nose. Please don't let me die. She felt herself rising to the surface very fast. The moment she burst threw the water she took a deep breath. "I will never take air for granted again!" After the happiness of being saved wore off, Quinn was upset with herself. "Darn it! I should've paid more attention to Gary's instructions." She took a few deep breaths, shook off her purple feathers, got back in the Aqua Grabber, and tried to lever again much slower. After a while she was able to move around with ease. Now I can finally look for pearls! Quinn forced herself to be patient and paid attention to her surroundings so she wouldn't crash into any more walls. She noticed how transparent the water was, but all she could see were moving plants that air bubbles came out of. Maybe the clams are farther down. Eventually Quinn found one. "It's snoring!" she laughed. I knew Maggie was wrong. These are harmless. She waited until the clam opened its mouth and tried to pull the pearl out, but she got too close. It woke up and clamped its mouth shut. After a few more tries Quinn got the hang of it and collected many pearls. This is getting boring. I wonder if there's anything else I can find around here. She looked around until she saw a yellow fish swim toward her. He moved his mouth almost as if he was trying to speak. He looks just like the picture in the Lighthouse. I think his name is Fluffy. Fluffy swam a few feet down and turned around like he was waiting for her. "Maybe he wants to show me something..." Quinn followed Fluffy in the Aqua Grabber as he lead her deeper into the sea. "This is so exciting! I can't wait to see where he takes me." After a while she noticed that the water turned a darker blue. Fluffy suddenly stopped and sped off. Quinn looked up. "I have no idea where I am. My air will run out in a few minutes. Why did I follow that dumb fish."

Family (A Club Penguin Short Story)

Family by Tiger98Lee

Loud, strong winds of the snowstorm blew against the pine trees of the Puffle Wilds. The Wild Puffles were curled up in their Puffle Forts to shelter themselves from the storm. Walking past the pine forest was a penguin in a ragged brown cloak, which the hood was blown off her head by a gust of snowy breeze, revealing her orange-feathered face and letting her reddish brown hair and beige, purple-striped bandanna flying with the wind.
Tigerspirit kept on waddling against the blizzard with her flippers, holding the edges of her cloak, curled into fists, wrapping herself in her cloak for warmth. Her eyes narrowed to protect them from snowflakes raining on her face, but enough to see where she was going.
"It's shouldn't be far right now.." she muttered to herself, her misty breath trailed in the wind. "I swore I know every edge of this place."
"'Every edge'?" said a voice behind her. Tigerspirit stopped and turned to see a red-headed, pink penguin behind her. Then drew out her hot sauce katana, which was lit in flames. Behind her loomed in a huge figure, who struck Tigerspirit in the back of her neck with his big white paw, knocking her out.

Groaning with pain, Tigerspirit woke up in a stone cave where workbenches of metal scraps, junk, broken gadgets and tools surrounded her. Then stood up, stumbling a bit, and rubbed the area on her neck where she was struck. Her vision was blurring and she tried to shake her head to regain strength and focus. A gruff, villainous laughter echoed, she could recognize that anywhere... Herbert..
"You should have known it was a trap..." Herbert said in a low voice, smirking.
"But.. but... That message from Hugo..." Tigerspirit was struggling to stand still, but fell to her knees. "It was all a scam, wasn't it?" she growled as she faced up to glare at the polar bear.
"A scam indeed.. " Anke added in.
"It is so that I can use you for my plan.." Herbert continued on.
"How can you do it? Your plans never worked..."
"Actually, my plan is to hold you hostile... for a ransom of the ownership of the island... "
While Herbert was telling Tigerspirit the plan, she peered over to see Klutzy fiddling with her katana on one of the workbenches, which shot out its flaming rod, startled Klutzy and dropped the katana. Seeing her chance, she looked at Herbert again, "Finally.. All the luxury I wanted will be mine..".
"If that's what you want, then you'll have to get me first." That said, Tigerspirit high kicked Herbert right under his chin, then rolled backwards to retrieve her katana and sliced on the snowy ground to create a fog blinding both Herbert and Anke. She then sheathed her katana and slipped it into her hoodie pocket and tried to slip away. Suddenly, Herbert grabbed Tigerspirit by the back collar of her hoodie, then she was tossed onto the ground. Before she could recover, Herbert threw her in an uppercut then land a strong punch on her stomach, sending her flying across the room until she hit the wall, which caused small ice debris to fall on her. Tigerspirit laid on ground battered and her eyes were closed, Herbert pinned her to the ground with his paw.
"Pathetic as you are... Like the other penguins that have stopped me before.. But no worries, I have another plan in mind." He stood up and cracked an icicle off the ceiling.
"Anke." Herbert called, then Anke looked at him. "Would you like to do the honor?" He said as he put out his paw holding the icicle.
"Yes I would." Anke took the icicle off of Herbert's paw as he stepped aside from Tigerspirit. She positioned herself and looked down at the now-injured orange penguin, then was about to plunge the icicle with both of her flippers onto Tigerspirit when a blue velociraptor lunged at her and seized her flipper with the icicle in it's jaws. The velociraptor then pinned Anke down with one of it's hind legs, it's jaw still gripping on her flipper.
"What the--?" Herbert was surprised until he heard a loud, echoing roar of the blue-ish, tattooed polar bear behind him, who charged at him and punched him by the jaw, which made him fall backwards. It took him a moment to recognize that it was his brother, Hugo. Then Herbert let out a growl and tried to lunge at him, but Hugo quickly strafed behind him and grabbed him by the scruff and plummet him to a wall. Herbert groaned with pain as he saw his brother walking towards to Tigerspirit.
"Boltjaw. Drop it." Hugo commanded the velociraptor, which let go of Anke's flipper. Her flipper was now painfully numb and bleeding, so she was unable to hold the icicle. Anke held her flipper and hissed with pain. Hugo gently pick up Tigerspirit and carry her with both of his arms, then turned away and started to leave Herbert's den.
"Wait, brother." Herbert started to talk as Hugo stopped at the door.
"What do you want now?" Hugo turned to his brother.
"Since you are here now. Why don't you stay and help me make this island a place for ourselves?"
"This is what you're doing, not me."
"Oh come on. We both are now stuck here on this penguin-infested land. This will be our new home where we can stay together. We are family... after all."
Hugo looked down and thought for a bit.
"Family?" his voice lowered, then turned into a harsh snarl, "Family?! Does family mean that you can leave each other behind?! Does family mean you can treat one another as enemies?! Does.. Does family mean you get to steal something away from another and keep it for themselves?!"
"What are you trying to say, brother?"
Hugo breathed angrily, then finally said, "You're NOT my brother."
Herbert faltered, "You.. you can't say that!"
"I can! From what the penguins told me about you, you're a selfish, proud, wanna-be glory hound who thought he can do everything by himself! Not like the big brother I once knew." That said, he made his way outside, followed by Boltjaw, who let out a screech at both Herbert and Anke.
"Well fine! I don't need you!! I, Herbert P Bear, will prove to you that I can takeover this island for good, single-handedly!! Without any assistance from someone who's related by blood!! And I suppose you would be on this island as alone as I am!!" Hugo could hear Herbert spitting at him in the distance as he traveled again into the snowstorm.
"I won't be that alone." Hugo turned his head to Herbert, then to Tigerspirit, who was resting in his arms, "She is my family now."

Tigerspirit was laid in the cloth-made nest, covered by a blanket. She was soon awake when Boltjaw gently nudged her with his muzzle. She looked around the blue ice above her and realized that she's in Hugo's glacier, then she stared back at Boltjaw, who was wagging his tail.
"Hey Boltjaw.." she said in a faint voice. As she tried to sat up, she suddenly felt a stab of pain on her stomach then realized she was stripped out of her clothing, replaced by bandages covering some parts of her arms, her head and from her chest to near her feet. Sighing, she laid back down and closed her eyes.
"You're up. I'm so glad you're okay." Hugo smiled at Tigerspirit, with a bowl of stew in his paws. Boltjaw then padded away then latched himself on an ice edge then into his nest.
"Hugo... I'm really sorry.." Tigerspirit whispered.
"You don't have to be." Hugo said as he sat down and put down the bowl on a small ice table.
"But--"
"Herbert is the one who got you into this."
"I heard that polar bears are scary meat-eaters. Until I met Herbert, he's mostly different.. But you..."
"Yeah. I'm the one odd one out as well, but in a good way."
"That makes Herbert the other way around."
"Actually, he was still the good big brother I know back when we were cubs." Hugo sighed, "I had his back as we grow up. He can't roar, swim or hunt. I wanted to fend for him, but he doesn't let me... Now that he tried to take your home away from you guys, I was so angry of what he's doing."
The blue-ish polar bear then helped Tigerspirit sat up and fed her the stew he brewed for her, every spoonful. Once she was done with his stew, Hugo laid her back down to rest, then gently leaned his muzzle on her head, muttering to her, "I swear.. on my life... that I will protect you... sister."

The Haunted Puffle

The Haunted Puffle by BuddyJosh10

Long ago, there was this puffle named Fred, he lived with his owner Smittydog292. Smittydog292 decided to go out for a snack, so he hired a puffle sitter for his puffle Fred. Smittydog292 then left the house, and Jack came over. Jack wasn't a regular penguin, there was something unusual about him, Fred could tell. Fred decided to sneak out the puffle door, and head on over to the Coffee Shop where he would get a decaf coffee, that was a mistake on his part. When Fred drank the decaf coffee, he went dizzy and fainted. When he woke up, he saw his body on the ground lying there. Fred hopped all the way back to Smittydog292's igloo, and when he got there Smittydog292 was already home. Fred ran over to Smittydog292 with excitement, but he went through him! Something weird has happened to Fred. Fred ran over to Jack's igloo and started asking him what was going on. Luckily, Jack could see Ghost Puffles very well. "Your a ghost now Fred, times are rough trust me" Jack said. Jack couldn't be shocked to hear that Fred wanted to be a real puffle again, in fact, he was glad he said that. Apparently, Jack was a wizard this whole time, and with a snap of a flipper, Fred was alive again! Fred couldn't be more than glad to be alive again, so he hopped over to Jack and gave him a hug. Fred quickly ran all the way back home and hugged his owner. "Where have you been?" Smittydog292 said. Fred replied back with a huge smile and he knew that he was glad to be home again.
